WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Nixon reports that the West Bridgewater Police Department arrested and charged a Raynham man following an investigation into a hit-and-run crash.
ZACHARY ADOMAITIS, 28, of RAYNHAM, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Class B Drug
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
- Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Attaching Wrong Plates to Conceal Identity
- Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Motorcycle Passenger Violation (No Helmet)
On Friday, Dec. 20, at approximately 2:10 p.m., West Bridgewater Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North Main and Matfield streets.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was operating erratically and passing vehicles on North Main Street when it collided with a truck that was exiting Matfield Street.
The motorcycle operator immediately fled the scene and could not be located at that time.
A passenger on the motorcycle sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Through the investigative efforts of Sgt. Todd Cantalupo and Officers Gerard Julien-Suarez, Christopher Huyghe, and Stefano D’Emilia, the suspect was identified as ADOMAITIS.
On Sunday, Dec. 22, Officer D’Emilia arrested ADOMAITIS, who also had a warrant for his arrest out of Brockton District Court. ADOMAITIS was found to be in possession of cocaine.
ADOMAITIS was arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court and held without bail.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
