WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Nixon reports that the West Bridgewater Police Department arrested a man on child pornography charges Wednesday.
DAVI BORGES DOS SANTOS, 24, of WEST BRIDGEWATER, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Distributing Obscene Matter
On Dec. 17, 2024, West Bridgewater Police Detective Jared Percival received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding child sexual abuse materials being distributed by a user on an instant messaging app.
Through an investigation, police determined that the app was being used at a home on Ellis Avenue in West Bridgewater and identified the suspect as DOS SANTOS. Investigators confirmed that children living on the premises were not involved in these incidents.
West Bridgewater Police obtained a search warrant for the home on Jan. 6. Members of the West Bridgewater Police Department, the W.E.B. Task Force, and the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force executed the warrant at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
During their search, detectives seized two of DOS SANTOS’ electronic devices for further examination.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, West Bridgewater Police received confirmation from State Police that DOS SANTOS had five videos containing child sexual abuse materials stored on one of the devices.
West Bridgewater Police obtained a warrant for DOS SANTOS’ arrest on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and he was taken into custody at the same home.
DOS SANTOS was arraigned Wednesday in Brockton District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
