WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Nixon reports that the West Bridgewater Police Department arrested and charged a Bridgewater man with his third OUI offense on Thursday.

LINH CONG HUYNH, 51, of BRIDGEWATER, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operating Under the Influence of Liquor (Third Offense)
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
  • Leaving the Scene of Property Damage

On Thursday, March 20, at approximately 8:07 p.m., Officer Jacob Sullivan responded to a reported three-vehicle crash on West Center Street near South Elm Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed three vehicles were involved in the crash and learned one driver had run from the scene. No one was injured.

Sgt. Todd Cantalupo set up a perimeter. Officer Richard Flaherty and K9 Fedor located HUYNH about 50 yards into the woods near the crash scene. He was taken into custody.

While speaking with HUYNH, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol.

A subsequent investigation, including field sobriety tests, determined that HUYNH had been operating under the influence.

HUYNH was arraigned Friday in Brockton District Court. He was released on personal recognizance after posting $1,500 at the police station. He is due back in court on May 6 for a pre-trial hearing.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
